A bachelor party yacht in Marbella beats a club table on almost every metric: more space, better photos, swimming between drinks, and a skipper who actually knows where the calm water is. For a group of 8-12 lads departing Puerto Banús, you are looking at €749 for two hours on a Tier A boat or around €4,719 for four hours on a Mangusta 80 with a free jet ski. Skipper, fuel, beer, wine, cava and 21% IVA are all in the price. This guide walks through the boats that suit a stag group, the routes that actually work, the add-ons worth paying for, and how to book without nasty surprises. Start at the Boat Rental Marbella hub if you want the full fleet overview first.

Which boats fit a bachelor group of 8-12

Spanish day-charter law caps passengers at 12 plus crew, so anything over 12 means a second boat. For most stag groups we point to four options. The Mangusta 80 (24m, 12 pax) is the headline pick: huge sunpads, a swim platform that swallows a jet ski, and 24-knot cruising speed so you can hit two anchorages in four hours. The Canados 86 (26m, 12 pax) is the quiet luxury choice with proper indoor lounge if the wind picks up. The Pershing 46 (14m, 10 pax) is sportier and a chunk cheaper. The Fairline Targa 12m suits 10 with a tighter budget. For groups under 8, the Azimut 39 at Tier A pricing is the value play.

What is actually included in the price

Every charter on our fleet bundles the same essentials, which matters for stag budgeting because there are no surprise top-ups at the dock. You get a licensed Spanish skipper, fuel for the agreed route, bottled water, soft drinks, local beer, white wine, cava, light snacks (crisps, olives, fruit), full passenger insurance, lifejackets and safety kit, and 21% Spanish VAT.

  • Skipper and fuel — no hidden surcharges by the hour.
  • Drinks package — beer, wine, cava, water, sodas all included.
  • Snacks — light only; book catering separately for substantial food.
  • Insurance and IVA — full passenger cover, tax already in the quote.

What is not included: premium spirits (bring your own or order ahead), proper catering, jet skis on boats other than the Mangusta 80, and tips for the crew if you want to leave one.

Routes that work for a stag day

Puerto Banús sits roughly in the middle of the Costa del Sol charter map, which gives you flexibility on direction. The two routes we run most for bachelor groups are below.

RouteDistanceBest forRecommended hours
Banús → Río Verde → Cala del Faro → Banús10-12 NMSwim + drinks loop, short on time2-4 hours
Banús → Cabopino sandbank → Banús18-22 NMIconic anchorage, sunset return4-6 hours
Banús → Estepona → Banús16-18 NMQuieter water, fewer day-trippers4-6 hours
Banús → Sotogrande32 NM one-wayLunch stop, longer days8 hours

For a four-hour stag charter the Río Verde plus Cala del Faro loop is the sweet spot: two swim stops, time to actually enjoy the drinks, and you are back before energy dips. See the best anchorages near Marbella piece if you want a fuller breakdown.

Add-ons worth paying for

The base package is generous, so add-ons should be picked deliberately. These are the ones bachelor groups consistently say were worth it.

  • Jet ski — free with the Mangusta 80, around €120-€180/30min on other boats. Single biggest hit of the day.
  • Onboard catering — paella for 10 runs about €25-€35 per head; sushi platters from €30. Saves the "we are starving by 3pm" problem.
  • Premium spirits — a bottle of Grey Goose or Don Julio onboard, roughly €120-€180 each, pre-arranged.
  • Photographer or drone — €250-€450 for a two-hour shoot; the photos drive most of the post-trip social return.
  • Evening transfer — driver from the marina to a Banús dinner table or Sala Beach, around €40-€80.

What to skip: inflatable unicorns photograph badly and steal locker space; bottle-service comparisons to clubs miss the point — the yacht is the venue.

Budgeting: what 8-12 lads actually spend

For a realistic ballpark, here is what a 10-person stag pays per head on three common configurations, all-inclusive of drinks, skipper, fuel and IVA.

BoatDurationTotalPer person (10 pax)
Azimut 39 (Tier A)4 hours€1,499~€150
Pershing 464 hourson request~€220-€280
Mangusta 80 (incl. jet ski)4 hours€4,719~€470
Mangusta 808 hourson request~€750-€850

Compared to a Banús club table at €1,500-€3,000 for bottle service plus entry, the yacht usually wins on cost-per-hour and definitely on photos. For the cheapest viable bachelor day, the Azimut 39 for 4 hours at €1,499 is the floor.

Timing the day to beat the crowds

Puerto Banús anchorages get busy from noon to 4pm in July and August. Two timing strategies work for stag groups. The first is the early start: depart 10:00 or 11:00, swim before lunch when Cala del Faro is half empty, back by 14:30. The second is the sunset slot: depart 17:00 or 18:00, hit the best light between 19:30 and 21:00, return as Banús nightlife is warming up. Avoid the 13:00-15:00 departure if you can — that puts you in the busiest water at the hottest part of the day.

Water temperature peaks at 23-24°C in August and sits around 19-20°C in May and October. Wind on this stretch averages 8-12 knots in summer; anything above 18 knots and the skipper may shorten the route.

Booking, deposits and changes

To lock a date, message us on WhatsApp with the boat, date, hours and group size. We confirm availability usually within an hour during business hours. A 30% deposit holds the booking; balance is due on the day by card or cash at the marina. If the skipper cancels for weather (sustained wind over ~20 knots, swell, or storms), you get a full refund or a free reschedule. If you cancel more than 14 days out, the deposit is refunded; 7-14 days, 50%; under 7 days, the deposit is non-refundable but transferable to a new date within 12 months.

Group sizes can shift up or down by 1-2 people without changing the price. If your stag group grows past 12, we will coordinate a second boat with a matched route. For more planning angles, see our yacht charter Marbella guide.

Frequently asked questions

How many people can I bring on a Marbella bachelor party yacht?

Spanish charter law caps day-charter passengers at 12 plus crew. For a stag group of 8-12 we recommend the Mangusta 80, Canados 86, Pershing 46 or Fairline Targa 12m, all departing Puerto Banús. If your group is 13 or more, you will need two boats running in convoy, which we can coordinate to share routes and anchor spots.

What does the price actually include?

Every quote covers a licensed skipper, fuel for the agreed route, water, soft drinks, beer, white wine, cava, light snacks, full insurance, safety equipment and 21% Spanish IVA. There are no fuel surcharges or port fees added later. Extras like jet skis on smaller boats, paddleboards, premium spirits or onboard catering are quoted separately on request.

Can we drink and play music on board?

Yes. Beer, white wine and cava are included, and you can bring additional spirits if you brief us in advance. Every boat has a Bluetooth sound system; the skipper will pair your phone so you control the playlist. We ask groups to keep volume reasonable near anchorages where families swim, but at sea you can run it however you like.

Where do the boats go for a stag day?

The classic Banús loop runs east along the Golden Mile to Río Verde and Cala del Faro for swimming, then back for sunset. Longer 6-8h charters reach Cabopino's sandbank or west to Estepona. The Mangusta 80 and Canados 86 cruise comfortably at 22-24 knots, so you can fit two or three swim stops into a 4h slot without rushing.

How much should we budget per person?

For a group of 10 on a Tier A boat for 4h, expect roughly €170-€220 per head all-in. A Mangusta 80 half-day works out around €470 per person for 12. Add €20-€40 per head for premium spirits or onboard catering. Compare that to a Banús club table and the yacht usually wins on memories per euro.

What add-ons make a bachelor day better?

Jet skis are the most-requested extra and come free with the Mangusta 80. We also arrange inflatable toys, paddleboards, professional photo or drone packages, and onboard catering with paella or sushi platters. For evening, we book Banús dinner tables or a Sala Beach transfer so the day rolls straight into the night without a logistics gap.

When should we book to lock the date?

For June-September weekends, book 4-6 weeks ahead, especially for the bigger flybridge boats. May and October weekends usually have 2-3 weeks of lead time. Midweek charters in shoulder months sometimes open up 7-10 days out. A 30% deposit holds the boat; balance is due on the day by card or cash.

What if the weather turns bad?

If the skipper cancels for safety reasons (wind above ~20 knots, swell, or storms), you get a full refund or a free reschedule, your choice. If conditions are merely overcast we still sail and most groups have a great day. We send a final go/no-go call the evening before based on the actual marine forecast, not generic weather apps.
