A corporate yacht charter in Marbella does three things a hotel meeting room cannot: it removes phones from the conversation, it impresses clients without feeling try-hard, and it gives a team a shared memory that lasts longer than a slide deck. Our fleet of 17 boats departs Puerto Banús, takes 8-12 guests per vessel, and prices start at €749 for two hours all-in. This guide covers how to choose the right boat, what to budget, and how to run the day so it actually works as a business event.

Why companies charter yachts in Marbella

Marbella sits at the warm end of the Costa del Sol with 320 sunny days a year, water temperatures of 19-24°C from May to October, and prevailing Levante or Poniente breezes that rarely exceed 15 knots inshore. That predictability matters when you've flown a board of directors in from Frankfurt or Riyadh. Puerto Banús is 35 minutes by car from Málaga airport, ten minutes from the Marbella Club and Puente Romano, and walking distance from Nobu — the logistics of moving a group from hotel to gangway are genuinely simple. For the wider picture of what's on offer locally, the Boat Rental Marbella hub has the full fleet and route maps.

Matching the boat to the group size

Spanish charter law caps any commercial day boat at 12 passengers, regardless of yacht length. That single rule shapes every booking decision.

Pricing for corporate groups

Three pricing realities sit behind every quote we send.

Every quote includes the licensed skipper, all fuel, bottled water, soft drinks, beer, Spanish white wine, cava, light snacks, insurance, safety kit and 21% IVA. Catering upgrades — sushi, full tapas lunch, chef on board — are added separately and need 48 hours notice.

Running a team day on the water

The best corporate days follow a simple rhythm: depart Puerto Banús at 11:00, run west past the Golden Mile for 40 minutes, anchor at Río Verde or Cala del Faro for a swim and lunch from 12:00 to 14:30, then loop back via Marbella town for the 15:00-16:00 return. Four hours is the sweet spot — long enough that people relax, short enough that nobody gets bored or sunburnt. Avoid scheduling formal presentations underway: engine noise and movement make it hard for half the group to focus. Save talking points for the anchored hour with the engines off.

Client hosting and entertaining

For client entertainment the boat itself is the message. The Ferretti 94 and Canados 86 are the obvious choices when you want guests to walk down the dock and visibly react — both are 26-29m superyachts with full crew, multiple decks and proper saloons. The Mangusta 80s deliver the same impact in a sportier silhouette. For more intimate hosting of three or four key clients, the Pershing 46 at 40 knots is fast, loud and memorable in a different way. Whichever you pick, brief the skipper on your guests' names beforehand — small touches like that get noticed.

Off-sites and strategy days

For a real working off-site, the Lagoon 380 catamaran is underrated. Its wide, stable platform means you can actually open a laptop without it sliding, the saloon table seats 8 for a workshop, and the two hulls give breakout space for one-to-ones. Anchor at Cala del Faro for the morning session, lunch on board, swim break, then a strategy debrief on the way back to port. It costs less than a Marbella Club meeting room with catering, and the conversations are different.

Logistics, invoicing and lead times

We invoice any EU or international company with a full Spanish factura showing the 21% IVA. Provide your registered company name, address and VAT number at booking. Payment is by bank transfer or card — no cash for corporate work. For July and August, lock dates 7-14 days ahead because the flybridges book out first. May, June, September and October usually accept 48-72 hour lead times. F1 weekends, Marbella Luxury Weekend and the first week of August need six weeks notice for the larger boats. Hotel pickups from Puente Romano, Marbella Club, Nobu and Don Carlos can be arranged with the dock at Puerto Banús — your guests step from the car directly to the gangway.

When to go: month by month

May and June give 22-26°C air, 19-22°C water and consistently light winds — the best window for guests who don't know the sea. July and August are hot (28-32°C) and busy, with Saturday traffic in Puerto Banús; book early lunch slots to avoid the crowds. September is arguably the best month overall: water at its warmest (23-24°C), fewer crowds, stable weather. October still works for half-day charters on calm days. November to April we mostly run on request for private events; the boats are out of the water for refit in January.

Frequently asked questions

How many guests can we host on a corporate charter?

Our fleet caps at 12 passengers per boat under Spanish charter law, regardless of yacht size. For groups of 8-11 the Azimut 39, Astondoa 40 or Pershing 46 work well. For 12 guests pick the Azimut 58, Ferretti 94, Canados 86 or one of the Mangusta 80s. Larger teams of 20-30 can split across two boats sailing in convoy along the Golden Mile.

What does a corporate yacht charter in Marbella cost?

Tier A boats run €749 for 2 hours up to €2,299 for a full 8-hour day, all-inclusive of skipper, drinks and VAT. The Mangusta 80 starts at €4,719 for a 4-hour minimum with a jet ski thrown in. Larger flybridges like the Ferretti 94 and Canados 86 are quoted on request via WhatsApp — budget €1,500-€3,000 per hour for the 24-29m class.

Can we run a client presentation or workshop on board?

Yes. The Azimut 58 Flybridge and Ferretti 94 have indoor saloons with screens and 220V power for laptops, plus shaded flybridge decks for breakout chat. We recommend anchoring at Cala del Faro or Río Verde for a stable, quiet hour rather than running the engines. Bring printed handouts — wind makes loose paper a problem.

What is included in the price?

Every charter includes a licensed skipper, fuel for the planned route, bottled water, soft drinks, beer, white wine and cava, light snacks (chips, olives, fruit), full insurance, life jackets and other safety equipment, plus Spanish IVA at 21%. Catering upgrades (sushi platters, tapas, full lunch) are billed separately and we can arrange them with 48h notice.

How far in advance should we book?

For July and August book 7-14 days ahead — the larger flybridges go first and corporate groups often need invoices, contracts and VAT numbers processed. In May, June, September and October 48-72 hours is usually enough. For exclusive use of a Mangusta 80 or the Ferretti 94 during F1 weekends or Marbella Luxury Weekend, six weeks lead time is safer.

Can you invoice our company with VAT?

Yes. We issue a Spanish factura with full IVA breakdown to any EU or international company. Provide your registered company name, address and VAT number when booking. Payment is bank transfer or card; we do not take cash for corporate bookings. Receipts are emailed within 24 hours of departure.

What if the weather turns?

The skipper makes the call on the morning of departure. If sea state exceeds safe limits (typically Force 5+ or 1.5m swell) we offer a free reschedule within 12 months or a full refund. Light rain alone does not cancel — the flybridges have hardtops and the saloons are air-conditioned. Marbella averages 320 sunny days a year.

Can guests swim or use water toys?

Yes. Most routes include a 30-60 minute anchor stop at Cala del Faro or off the Golden Mile for swimming. The Mangusta 80 charters come with a jet ski included. Paddleboards, SeaBob and additional jet skis are available on request for €80-€250 depending on toy and duration. We carry towels and snorkel kits on board.
