The fastest table in Marbella is the one you reach by sea. Skip the N-340 traffic, the €25 valet and the 20-minute walk from the car park: arrive directly at the chiringuito by tender, or moor stern-to at a Puerto Banús quayside terrace. This guide covers nine restaurants between Estepona and Cabopino that work for a lunch stop on a half-day charter, the practicalities of getting ashore, and how to pair the meal with a swim at Cala del Faro or Río Verde.

Puerto Banús quayside: mooring stern-to for lunch

Five venues inside the marina take walk-up boat traffic from 12:00 to 16:00. Cipriani (Italian, terrace right on the Levante quay), Astral (Mediterranean fish, opposite the superyacht line), La Sala by the Sea (British-leaning brasserie, easy with kids), Pangea (steaks, lounge atmosphere) and Sumosan (Japanese, end of the harbour). All five sit within a 50m walk of the visitor berths. Our skipper calls Puerto Banús harbour control on VHF 09 about 30 minutes before arrival and you usually have a berth allocated by the time you tie up. Quayside rates for a 2-3 hour lunch run €40-€90 depending on overall length; for boats over 20m we pre-book the day before. None of these venues charge a corkage if you arrive by water — you simply order from their drinks list as usual.

Trocadero Arena and the Río Verde anchorage

Trocadero Arena sits 1.5NM east of Puerto Banús on the sand at Río Verde. It is the closest serious chiringuito to the marina and the easiest first stop on a 4h Tier A charter at €749. We anchor in 4-5m of water about 100m off the beach, drop the tender, and you step ashore at the lifeguard tower. The kitchen runs a Mediterranean menu: grilled sea bass €32, ibérico croquettes €18, rice dishes from €28 for two. Sunbeds on their stretch of sand cost €40 a pair including a parasol. Service from 13:30; reserve the morning of your charter on +34 952 779 365. From the anchorage you see La Concha and the Golden Mile framing the coast — one of the best lunch views in Marbella.

Nikki Beach: the dressy option

Nikki Beach Marbella sits 3NM east of Puerto Banús, in front of the Don Carlos hotel. The anchorage is exposed to the east wind, so we check the forecast and only commit if Levante stays under 12 knots. Tender ashore is a 4-minute run. The dress code matters here: no swimwear at the table after 14:00, so guests change on the boat into linen or a dress before the tender shuttle. A two-course lunch with a bottle of rosé runs €70-€110 a head; sunbeds €60 each. Sunday brunches are theatrical and pricey but a good reason to take the 8h charter at €2,299 and stay for the dancing-on-tables 16:00 set.

Cabopino chiringuitos: low-key and fish-led

Push another 5NM east of Nikki Beach and you reach the dune system at Cabopino. Three chiringuitos work here for a boat lunch: Bono Beach, Andy's Beach and El Oasis. All three are sand-floored, swimwear-OK, with main courses €18-€28 and a kids' menu around €14. Anchorage is sheltered from westerlies and the holding is good in 4m of sand. We drop the hook 120m off Bono Beach's lifeguard post and shuttle in by tender. This is the best stop if you want a quiet lunch without the Puerto Banús showboat energy; it also pairs nicely with a return swim at Cala Cortés on the way back.

How the catering-onboard option works

If you would rather not go ashore, every charter already includes water, soft drinks, beer, white wine, cava and light snacks — that is enough for a 2-3 hour trip. For a proper meal onboard we coordinate with you the day before: tapas platters from €18 per person, sushi boxes around €35, paella for the table at €45 per head. We collect the order from Puerto Banús before you board and serve it at anchor in your chosen cove. Drinks remain included on top. This is a good move on August weekends when the popular chiringuitos run two-hour waits for walk-ins.

Frequently asked questions

Which Marbella restaurants can I actually arrive at by boat?

You can reach Puerto Banús quayside venues (Cipriani, La Sala by the Sea, Astral) directly by mooring stern-to. For beach clubs like Nikki Beach, Trocadero Arena, Bono Beach and the Cabopino chiringuitos, you anchor 100m off the sand and our skipper runs you in by tender. Plan a 1-2NM hop from Puerto Banús — most stops are 10-20 minutes away.

Do I need to book a berth in Puerto Banús for lunch?

For our fleet under 15m, the skipper handles same-day berthing via VHF 09 on arrival; usually you get a slot within 20 minutes. For yachts over 20m (Mangusta 80, Canados 86, Ferretti 94) we pre-book the day before. Lunch-only stays of 2-3 hours are charged at the short-stay quayside rate, typically €40-€90 depending on length overall.

How does a tender drop-off at a beach club work?

Your skipper anchors 80-150m off the beach in 4-6m of water, then ferries guests ashore in the tender, two or three at a time. You step off in knee-deep water onto the sand and walk 30 seconds to the chiringuito. Bags, phones and shoes ride in a dry bag. The skipper waits aboard and collects you when you signal by phone or VHF.

What is the dress code at Marbella beachfront restaurants?

Chiringuitos like Trocadero Arena, Bono Beach and the Cabopino huts are swimwear-friendly at lunch — sarong or shirt over your costume is fine. Puerto Banús quayside venues (Cipriani, Astral) expect smart-casual: linen shirts, dresses, dry shoes. Nikki Beach enforces no swimwear at the table after 14:00, so pack a change of clothes if that is your stop.

Can we eat onboard instead of going ashore?

Yes — every charter includes water, soft drinks, beer, white wine, cava and light snacks. For a full meal we can pre-order catering: tapas platters from €18 per person, sushi boxes around €35, or a paella delivered to the boat for €45 per head. Tell us the day before and we collect the order from Puerto Banús before departure. Drinks remain included on top.

What is the best route for a half-day lunch charter?

From Puerto Banús, head east to Río Verde for a quick swim, anchor off Trocadero Arena (1.5NM, 12 minutes), eat lunch, then continue to Cabopino dunes (another 6NM east) for an afternoon swim before returning. Total distance about 16NM round-trip, comfortably done in a 4h Tier A charter at €749 or in 6h for a more relaxed pace.

Are children welcome at these restaurants?

Most chiringuitos are family-friendly — Bono Beach and the Cabopino huts have shaded play areas and kids' menus around €12-€16. Trocadero Arena and Nikki Beach accept children at lunchtime but lean adult. Puerto Banús venues like Cipriani are fine for over-eights but not really set up for toddlers. Our boats carry life jackets in every child size from 10kg upwards.

Can I combine a boat lunch with a sunset return?

Absolutely. An 8h Tier A charter at €2,299 gives you a 13:00 lunch stop, an afternoon swim at Cala del Faro, then a slow downwind cruise back along the Golden Mile as the sun drops behind La Concha around 21:30 in midsummer. Drinks stay topped up and you dock back into Puerto Banús around 22:00 — message us on WhatsApp to lock the slot.
