The fireworks viewing line
The official municipal display launches from the Puerto Banús breakwater shortly after the midnight bells. Your skipper anchors 200-400 metres offshore opposite the marina entrance, which puts the boat directly under the burst pattern and clear of the harbour's no-go zone. From the same anchor you also see private fireworks from beach clubs in Río Verde and villas above the Golden Mile, and the marina itself stays lit until around 03:00. Most skippers cut engines for 20 minutes either side of midnight so the deck stays silent for the toast.

Choosing the right boat for your group
For couples and groups up to 6, the Astondoa 40 or Azimut 39 hit the sweet spot — sheltered cockpit, heated saloon, easy to anchor close to the fireworks line. Eight to twelve guests should step up to the Azimut 58 Flybridge or one of the Mangusta 80s for the indoor lounge and dual decks; the Mangusta also throws in a jet ski for the daytime hours if you start earlier. - Full NYE (20:00-02:00, 6h on Mangusta 80 or Ferretti 94) — DJ on deck, catered tasting menu, midnight at anchor, slow cruise back along the Golden Mile lights.
What to wear and bring
Temperatures drop noticeably once you leave the breakwater. Plan for 10-12°C at midnight with a light 5-10 kt breeze. Bring a windproof jacket, a warm layer, a hat and closed shoes with non-marking soles. Heels are fine inside the saloon but awkward on a wet deck. Phones and cameras work well from the flybridge; if you want long-exposure fireworks shots, a small tripod fits any of our boats. Glassware and crockery are provided — no need to bring anything edible or alcoholic, though you are welcome to.
Weather, safety and contingency
We track AEMET forecasts daily from 24 December onwards. If wind exceeds 15 knots or swell tops 1.5 m, the skipper shortens the offshore leg and anchors closer to the harbour wall — the fireworks view is unaffected. In the rare case of a full small-craft warning, you can rebook to any night in January or take a 100% credit. All boats carry full lifejacket sets, EPIRB and twin VHF, and skippers hold a Spanish PER licence or higher.
