A romantic dinner on a yacht in Marbella means leaving Puerto Banús at golden hour, anchoring in a calm bay off the Golden Mile, and eating a catered three-course menu on deck while the coastline lights up behind you. Pricing starts at €749 for a 2h sunset slot on the Astondoa 40 or Azimut 39 — skipper, cava, white wine, beer, soft drinks and snacks already included — and scales to €4,719 for 4h on the Mangusta 80 if you want a flybridge to yourselves.

What you actually get for the price

Every charter on our fleet includes the same baseline: a licensed Spanish skipper, fuel, insurance, safety kit, water, soft drinks, beer, white wine, cava, light snacks (olives, crisps, fresh fruit) and the 21% IVA. That means the €749 ticket for a Tier A 2h sunset on the Astondoa 40 is the all-in price — there is no fuel surcharge or skipper tip waiting at the end of the night. Hot food is the only paid add-on, quoted per head on WhatsApp once you tell us the menu.

  • Tier A (Astondoa 40, Azimut 39): €749/2h sunset or €2,299/8h full evening.
  • Tier B (Mangusta 80, white or grey variant): from €4,719 for 4h, jet ski free.
  • Other boats (Pershing 46, Fairline Targa 12m, Azimut 58, Ferretti 94, Canados 86): price on request via WhatsApp.

Which boat suits a couple best?

For two people the honest answer is the Astondoa 40 or the Azimut 39. Both are 12.5m, both carry up to 9-11 guests so you have the deck to yourselves, and both have a flybridge that turns into the dinner table at sunset. The saloon below has a proper dining table and air-con if the wind picks up. If your budget is tighter, the Dubhe is an 8m day boat with a forward sunpad that's surprisingly intimate for two — great for a 2-3h sunset cruise with cava. For a milestone (engagement, anniversary, honeymoon night), the Mangusta 80 is the right call: 24m, master cabin, two sundecks, jet ski included.

Where the yacht actually anchors

We do not eat under way. The skipper cruises 10-25 minutes from Puerto Banús, drops anchor in a sheltered bay, kills the engines, and dinner begins. The three regular anchorages are Río Verde just off the Golden Mile (closest, best Marbella skyline view), Cala del Faro near the Marbella lighthouse (quietest, deepest water), and Cala Cortés towards Estepona (best for sunset over the western coast). The choice depends on wind direction on the night — typical evening conditions are 8-15 kts and 0.3-0.6m swell, which is flat enough for plates and stemmed glasses to behave.

The food: what's free, what costs extra

Drinks and light snacks are included on every charter, no exceptions. That means cava on ice when you board, plus white wine, beer, soft drinks, still and sparkling water, olives, crisps and fresh fruit through the night. Hot catered courses are arranged separately. We work with a local caterer in Puerto Banús who delivers sealed insulated boxes to the boat 30 minutes before departure. Standard menus run €45-90 per head and cover paella for two, grilled dorada or sea bass, tuna tataki, vegetarian (grilled vegetable platter, burrata salad), and a dessert plate. Vegan, gluten-free and halal are all available with 48h notice.

  • Champagne upgrade (Veuve Clicquot, Moët, Dom Pérignon): charged at cost, no corkage.
  • Wine pairing upgrade: €25-60 per person depending on the bottle.
  • External catering: bring your own, no corkage, no fee.

Timing: when to board for the perfect sunset

Marbella sunsets fall between 21:00 and 22:00 from May to September. The trick is boarding 90 minutes before sunset so you have time to cruise out, anchor, pour the first glass and watch the light change. In July-August we usually board at 19:30 and return by 21:30 for a 2h sunset slot, or 18:00-02:00 for the 8h package which lets you stay out under the stars. April and October still work — sea temperature is 16-18°C and evenings are mostly calm — but you'll want a layer once the sun is down. The wind reliably drops after sundown along this coast, which is why dinner at anchor here is more stable than in many Mediterranean ports.

Setting the scene: flowers, music, proposals

If you message us on WhatsApp at least 48h ahead, we can stage the boat before you arrive. That usually means white roses on the saloon table, a chilled bottle of your preferred champagne, a Bluetooth speaker pre-paired with your phone and pre-loaded with your playlist, and the skipper briefed on the exact anchor spot you want for the proposal moment. We do not film or photograph guests without consent — if you want a photographer on board, bring your own, and we'll keep the skipper out of frame. For larger boats like the Ferretti 94 or Canados 86 we can also arrange a small live acoustic act on deck (extra cost, quoted on request).

Safety, stability and the weather call

The bays west of Puerto Banús are sheltered by the coastline and the Sierra Blanca mountain range, which is the main reason evening swell is so low. All our boats carry full Spanish safety equipment, every skipper holds a commercial licence, and insurance is included in the headline price. If the forecast for your evening exceeds 20 kts of wind or 1m swell, we will call you the morning of departure and propose a reschedule — your deposit transfers in full, with no argument and no admin fee. We would rather move the booking than serve you dinner on a moving deck.

How to book and what we need from you

Bookings go through WhatsApp directly from the homepage. We need three things: the date, the boat you want (or your budget — we'll suggest the right one), and whether you want catered hot food added. Pay 30% deposit to confirm, balance on the day. If you are not sure which boat fits, compare the Astondoa 40 and Azimut 39 first — they are the standard romantic dinner boats and the price is fixed. For anything larger or more bespoke (Pershing 46, Mangusta 80, Ferretti 94), reply to the same WhatsApp thread and we will quote within the hour.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a romantic dinner on a yacht in Marbella actually cost?

For two people, the realistic floor is €749 for a 2h sunset slot on the Astondoa 40 or Azimut 39, which already includes skipper, cava, white wine, beer, soft drinks and snacks. A full 8h evening on the same boat is €2,299. If you want hot catered courses brought on board, add roughly €45-90 per person depending on menu. The Mangusta 80 starts at €4,719 for 4h and suits proposals or small private parties up to 12 guests.

Where does the yacht actually anchor for dinner?

We leave Puerto Banús and cruise 10-25 minutes east or west depending on swell. The usual anchorages are Río Verde just off the Golden Mile, Cala del Faro near the lighthouse, or Cala Cortés towards Estepona. The skipper picks the calmest bay on the night so plates and glasses stay put. You'll see Marbella's coastline lit up and La Concha mountain behind it — the view people pay for.

Is the food included or do we bring our own?

Drinks and light snacks (cava, white wine, beer, soft drinks, water, olives, crisps, fruit) are included on every charter — that part is free. A proper hot dinner (paella, grilled dorada, tuna tataki, vegetarian options) is a paid add-on we arrange with a local caterer and deliver to the boat before departure. You can also bring your own catering with no corkage. Tell us on WhatsApp and we'll quote the menu.

Which boat is best for just the two of us?

The Astondoa 40 and Azimut 39 are the sweet spot for couples: 12.5m of deck, a flybridge for the sunset, a proper saloon if the wind picks up, and €749 for 2h. If you want something more intimate and budget-friendly, the Dubhe is an 8m day boat for up to 5 guests with a forward sunpad that's ideal for two. For a milestone occasion, the Mangusta 80 gives you a full master cabin.

What time should we depart for the best sunset?

Between May and September, sunset in Marbella falls between 21:00 and 22:00. We recommend boarding 90 minutes before sunset so you cruise out, drop anchor and pour the first glass while the light is still gold. A 19:30 board / 21:30 return works in July-August. Outside summer, push everything an hour earlier — sea temp drops to 16-18°C in April and October but evenings are still flat-calm most nights.

Can you arrange flowers, music or a proposal moment?

Yes. WhatsApp us 48h ahead and we can have white roses on the saloon table, a bottle of Veuve or Dom on ice (charged at cost), a Bluetooth speaker pre-loaded with your playlist, and the skipper briefed to anchor in the exact spot you want for the ring moment. We do not film or photograph without consent — if you want a photographer on board, bring your own or ask us to recommend one.

Is it safe and stable enough for dinner at anchor?

Yes — the bays west of Puerto Banús are sheltered by the coastline and the Sierra Blanca. Typical evening swell is 0.3-0.6m and wind drops to 8-15 kts after sundown. All our boats carry full safety equipment, the skipper holds a Spanish commercial licence, and insurance is included. If forecast wind exceeds 20 kts we'll move the booking — your deposit transfers, no argument.

Do we need to know anything about boats?

Nothing. The licensed skipper handles departure, navigation, anchoring and the return into Puerto Banús. You step on, choose where to sit, and the only decision is more cava or more wine. Children are welcome on family bookings but for romantic dinners most couples come alone. Bring a light layer for after sunset, flat shoes for boarding, and a card for the catering add-on.
