There's something primal about casting a line as the sun lifts over La Concha. A sunrise fishing charter Marbella gets you on the water before the jet skis and day-trippers, when the sea is glassy and the fish are hungry. Departing from Puerto Banús, our 4-hour trip combines the thrill of the catch with the quiet beauty of dawn on the Costa del Sol. Licensed skipper, all gear, drinks, and snacks included – just bring your hat.

Why book a sunrise fishing charter in Marbella?

Fishing at first light isn't just about avoiding the heat (though that helps). Fish feed more actively in low light, and the lack of boat traffic means your bait gets noticed. Our skippers know the productive grounds off Cabopino, Cala del Faro, and the Río Verde mouth. Expect sea bass, bream, mackerel, and the occasional dentex. The 4-hour window – typically 06:30 to 10:30 – gives you prime feeding time and still leaves the rest of the day free for the beach.

Our boats for the dawn catch

We run the sunrise charter on our Tier A boats: the Astondoa 40 (12.5m, 9 pax) and Azimut 39 (12.5m, 11 pax). Both are well-equipped with rod holders, a shaded cockpit, and a cooler for your catch. If you have a larger group (up to 12 pax), ask about the Mangusta 80 or Azimut 58 Flybridge – pricing on request via WhatsApp. All charters include a licensed skipper who handles the navigation and knows the local marks.

What's included in the price

The €749/4h rate (Astondoa 40 or Azimut 39) covers everything: licensed skipper, fuel, all fishing gear and bait, insurance, and Spanish IVA (21%). Onboard you'll find water, soft drinks, beer, white wine, cava, and light snacks. No hidden extras – the price is the price. For the Mangusta 80, the minimum spend is €4,719 for 4 hours (includes a jet ski).

Where we fish: best spots near Marbella

Our skippers rotate between proven locations depending on wind and tide. Common grounds include:

All within 30 minutes of Puerto Banús. Your skipper decides on the day based on conditions.

What to bring and wear

Dawn on the Mediterranean can be cool (15–18°C in spring/autumn), so a light windbreaker or fleece is smart. Sunscreen is essential even at 7am – the UV bounces off the water. Polarised sunglasses help you see into the water. No need for specialised gear; we supply everything. Leave the chunky heels at home – non-slip deck shoes or trainers are best.

Catch-and-release vs. keeping your catch

We encourage catch-and-release to preserve stocks, especially for larger bream and dentex. If you want to keep a few for the barbecue, your skipper will clean and fillet them. Many guests take their catch to a nearby chiringuito (beach bar) – try Los Sardinales in Cabopino – and they'll grill it for you. Please respect local size limits: sea bass under 36cm go back.

How to book your sunrise fishing charter

Reserve via our Boat Rental Marbella booking page or message us on WhatsApp. We need at least 48 hours' notice for the dawn trip to arrange bait and skipper. Payment is 50% deposit (secure via bank transfer or card), balance on the day. Cancellations due to weather are free – we'll reschedule or refund. For groups of 6+, we recommend the sunrise fishing charter Marbella experience page for full details.

Yes, you're welcome to bring extra snacks or a picnic. Our standard charter already includes water, soft drinks, beer, white wine, cava, and light snacks. No glass bottles, please – we provide plastic cups.

Do we need a fishing license?

No – your skipper holds the necessary permits for recreational fishing in Spanish waters. You just show up and fish. We follow local regulations, including size limits and catch quotas.
