An overnight yacht stay in Marbella means sleeping aboard a private charter berthed in Puerto Banús, not anchored offshore. Spanish maritime regulations do not allow overnight anchoring inside the coastal protection zone here, so every reputable operator (us included) runs overnights as stay-aboard at the slip with shore power, A/C and security gate access. From our Marbella fleet, prices start at €2,299 for a Tier A day package and extend into the night for a flat add-on quoted on WhatsApp.

What "overnight" actually means in Marbella

You charter the boat for a day (typically 8 hours of cruising) and then keep exclusive use of it through the night while it stays in its berth at Puerto Banús. The skipper finishes their shift around 19:00-20:00, hands you the keys to the cabins and saloon, and you have the boat to yourselves until breakfast. No engines, no anchoring, no swell — just a quiet floating apartment 90 seconds from Puerto Banús nightlife.

This is different from what some Mediterranean ports allow (overnight anchorages in protected bays). Marbella's Posidonia seagrass protection zone, enforced by the Junta de Andalucía, prohibits overnight anchoring within roughly 2 nautical miles of the coastline. The stay-aboard berth format keeps you legal and considerably more comfortable.

Our Lagoon 380 deserves a specific mention: as the only catamaran in the Marbella fleet, it sits noticeably flatter at the dock than monohulls, which matters at 03:00 when the harbour ferry wash arrives. The Azimut 58 is the sweet spot for families wanting three real cabins without crossing into superyacht pricing.

Pricing for overnight charters

We do not list a single "overnight" rate because the cost depends on the boat and whether you want crewed service or stay-aboard only. Honest reference points from our published pricing:

  • Tier A (Astondoa 40, Azimut 39): €749 for 2h, €2,299 for 8h. Skipper, fuel, drinks and 21% IVA included. Overnight add-on for stay-aboard at berth quoted per booking.
  • Tier B (Mangusta 80, including white and grey variants): €4,719 minimum 4h with jet ski included free. Overnight cabin allocation quoted on request.
  • Azimut 58, Ferretti 94, Canados 86, Pershing 46: pricing on request via WhatsApp. These are crewed boats and overnight service typically includes a chef and stewardess.

What you should not pay extra for: fuel for the day cruise, soft drinks, beer, white wine, cava, light snacks, licensed skipper, insurance, safety equipment or VAT. All of that is in the headline price.

A realistic overnight itinerary

The pattern most guests follow looks like this. Boarding at 11:00 in Puerto Banús. Cruise west along the Golden Mile, passing La Concha mountain on your right, then anchor at Río Verde for a two-hour swim stop in 4-6m of clear water. Lunch aboard while the skipper repositions to Cala del Faro near Marbella lighthouse. Afternoon swim, second cocktail. Slow return cruise at 18:30 timed for the sunset behind Gibraltar on a clear day.

Back in the slip by 20:00, the skipper finishes their handover and you walk five minutes into Puerto Banús for dinner — or stay aboard for a chef-prepared meal on the flybridge. Lights out whenever; the marina security gate is staffed 24/7. Breakfast on board around 09:00, and either disembark or extend into a second day cruise.

Sleeping comfort: what to expect

Puerto Banús harbour has effectively zero swell because of its breakwater design. The most you will feel is the gentle slap of water against the hull and occasional wash from the harbour patrol. Cabins on every boat from the Azimut 39 upward have proper mattresses (not cushions), bedding, blackout curtains and reading lights. A/C runs off shore power all night without ticking down the boat's batteries.

July and August nights in Marbella sit around 22-24°C with low humidity, so A/C is essential. Average sea temperature in July is 22°C, climbing to 23°C in August, which makes morning swims off the swim platform genuinely pleasant. We provide one full set of towels per guest; bring your own if you want a second set for the morning swim.

Food, drink and provisioning

Charter-day inclusions are generous: water, soft drinks, beer, white wine, cava and light snacks (think olives, crisps, fruit, light tapas). For the overnight portion we extend these to the next morning on request. Breakfast aboard is from €18 per person continental, €32 per person hot, ordered 24 hours in advance.

Dinner aboard with a private chef is from €95 per person for a three-course menu using Málaga market produce. Or walk five minutes to Puerto Banús — places like Cipriani, Nikki Beach and dozens of tapas spots are right there. We can also handle a bespoke shop at Mercadona or El Corte Inglés Gourmet Experience if you prefer to self-cater.

When to book an overnight

June through September is peak season and Saturday slots typically sell out 3-4 weeks ahead. October offers the best value-to-weather ratio: sea still at 21°C, air at 24°C, prices roughly 15% softer than August. Sunday-to-Monday overnights are quieter in the harbour than Friday/Saturday because the day-tripper traffic drops. For stag parties or milestone birthdays, book 6-8 weeks ahead to get first choice of boat.

How to book

Two steps. Send us your dates, group size and rough preference (couple's escape, family of 6, group of 12) on WhatsApp. We confirm availability across the fleet, send a quote with the overnight add-on, and hold the slip with a deposit. Balance is paid on the day. We do not take credit card surcharges and we do not run dynamic pricing — the rates above are the rates you pay.

If you are unsure which boat fits, the simplest filter is cabin count: divide your group by two and pick the boat with at least that many cabins. From there it is a question of style (sporty Pershing 46, classic Astondoa 40, Italian-design Mangusta 80) and budget. See the full Marbella charter fleet for specs and photos.

Frequently asked questions

Can you actually sleep on the boat overnight in Marbella?

Yes. You sleep on the boat while it stays berthed in Puerto Banús marina. Spanish maritime rules do not permit overnight anchoring inside Marbella's coastal protection zones, so every overnight charter we offer is a stay-aboard at the slip with shore power, water and security gate access. Cabins, A/C and the heads are fully usable.

How much does an overnight yacht stay in Marbella cost?

Our standard day package on Tier A boats (Astondoa 40, Azimut 39) is €2,299 for 8 hours including skipper, fuel, drinks and IVA, and we extend that into an overnight at the berth for a flat add-on quoted by WhatsApp. Larger boats like the Mangusta 80 start at €4,719 for 4 hours; stay-aboard pricing depends on cabin count and crew.

Which boats in your fleet are best for overnight stays?

For couples, the Azimut 39 (one double cabin) is the value pick. For 4-6 guests, the Azimut 58 Flybridge has three cabins and a flybridge for breakfast. For groups of 8-12, the Ferretti 94 (four cabins) or Mangusta 80 (three cabins plus crew) give you proper hotel-grade space. The Lagoon 380 catamaran is the most stable for light sleepers.

Is air conditioning included while sleeping aboard?

Yes on every motor yacht in our fleet from the Azimut 39 upward. While berthed, the boat runs on shore power so A/C, fridge, lights and sockets all work without draining batteries. We confirm shore-power availability on your specific slip before booking and include it in the overnight add-on quote.

Do we get a private cabin or shared bunks?

Private cabins. Every overnight booking is exclusive use of the boat for your group, so the master, VIP and guest cabins are yours to allocate. The skipper sleeps off the boat unless you specifically request crewed service, in which case crew use dedicated quarters separate from guest cabins.

What about breakfast and dinner on board?

Charter day includes light snacks, soft drinks, beer, white wine and cava. For the overnight portion we add breakfast aboard on request (continental from €18pp, full hot from €32pp) and can arrange a private chef for dinner. Puerto Banús also has 30+ restaurants within a five-minute walk if you prefer to step ashore.

Are showers and toilets available overnight in the marina?

Yes. All cabin yachts have ensuite or shared heads with showers fed by the onboard freshwater tank, which we top up from shore. Puerto Banús marina also has shower blocks on the quay. Hot water runs off the boat's calorifier and works fine on shore power.

Can we combine a day sail with the overnight stay?

That is the standard format. A typical booking is an 8-hour day charter cruising to Río Verde or Cala del Faro for swimming, returning to Puerto Banús around 19:00 for sunset on the flybridge, then sleeping aboard. We re-provision in the morning and either disembark or extend into a second day.
